We’re proud to announce that The Oaks Day Nursery has once again been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, making it one of only a small number of settings to retain its rating in 2023.

First rated ‘Outstanding’ in 2017, the nursery has been praised for turning the Birmingham Day Nurseries’ vision of ‘nurturing a new generation within sustainable and socially responsible nurseries’ into a reality – a success that’s seen The Oaks tick all the right boxes.

“We’re just over the moon,” says Rebecca Slater, Nursery Manager of The Oaks. “We couldn’t have asked for a better report; it really captured the essence of The Oaks and our love of the outdoors.

“We’re proud to help build the foundations every child needs to have a joy for learning. So, having Ofsted comment on how engaged our children were and the genuine fun taking place in each room is fantastic recognition for all our staff and makes all the hard work worthwhile.”

It seems that pride is felt by everyone across Birmingham Day Nurseries. Head of Childcare Services, Paula Hunt, has shared how very proud she is of the team “for their constant commitment and dedication to making The Oaks nursery and pre-school a truly amazing place for all”. Einita Suman, Director of Accommodation and Operations added, “I’m immensely proud of everyone at The Oaks, their nurturing approach, and commitment to creating a safe and stimulating environment”.

Einita also thanks the entire team for their “tireless efforts in shaping our children’s lives and making a positive impact on our community”.

The Oaks has been praised for its:

  • broad and varied curriculum
  • high level of child and staff wellbeing
  • team’s enthusiasm, passion, and dedication to giving children the best start in life
  • tailored support for every child, including specialised SEN/disability support.
  • extensive parent partnerships, with parents commenting that staff go ‘above and beyond’ for their children

Ofsted also commended the nursery on its ‘exceptionally well-planned and well-resourced indoor and outdoor environments.’ The Oaks’ award-winning Forest School impressed the most, with inspectors commenting on how the space ‘ignites children’s imaginations’ and helps them to flourish. We’re proud to give every child the chance to experience the magic of this setting through our stay-and-play group, Muddy Explorers.
