Our daily sessions

We’re open 51 weeks of the year,

excluding Public Holidays and University closed days.

Our opening hours are designed to make life easy for you,

fitting childcare around your work and other commitments. You can choose for your child to be with us full time or part-time.

We have a car park, and we’re easy to get to by car or

by public transport. Check the map.

We’re open to everyone.

You can find The Elms near the University of Birmingham’s Edgbaston campus – but you’re still very welcome if you don’t have a connection to the university.

What is The Maples like?

What is a Curiosity Approach-accredited nursery?

The curiosity approach places every unique child at the centre of their own learning and development. By engaging in non-prescriptive activities, using a range of natural play resources, your child will develop confidence, communication skills and a genuine joy in learning.

Caring for the planet, too

The Maples is the only nursery in Birmingham to have cut out single-use plastics. Washable, reusable wipes and aprons save plastic from going to landfill. Cloth nappies are also welcome. The only plastic toys you’ll find here are recycled to give them a longer life!

The Great Outdoors

In addition to our own outdoor play area, children have regular access to Winterbourne’s botanic garden just next door. This is an ideal environment for the curiosity-led approach, filled with green open spaces, intriguing wild corners, a Forest School, and trees and plants from around the world.

What to expect

The Maples is a single-level nursery, fully refurbished with outstanding indoor and outdoor play environments, exclusively for children aged 18 months to 4 years. You’ll find us on Edgbaston Park Road, just two miles south of Birmingham city centre.

Staff

Staff are just as well qualified and professional as in our two sister nurseries, The Elms and The Oaks. That means you and your child will receive the best quality childcare in line with the EYFS, in a safe and secure environment, from a friendly team who really care.

The Maples has places available now.

Just call 0121 415 9222 to book a visit, or enquire about availability online.
